Visual Arts Center of Richmond
Profits is a Visual Arts Center of Richmond arts and social entrepreneurship program for High School students that fuses business and art-making to promote social change and community development. Over 12-weeks, students learned about the Intersection of creativity, financial literacy, marketing, And community investment. Together, students created, marketed, and sold original murals to Richmond-based B-Corp business sponsors. These pieces of art will be featured along the UI World Championship bike race course and before finding permanent homes with the sponsors. The sale of the murals raised money for the Richmond Cycling Corp, a non-profit cycling organization dedicated to transforming the lives of youth and communities in public housing in Richmond city.
