35mm Decay
35mm Decay is a project in which I use other artists’ “end of the roll” film or otherwise compromised 35mm or medium format film photography as the direct inspiration for a series of 40 paintings.

About this Process
After joining an online community of film enthusiasts I began to notice a great deal of footage that was compromised by time and process. I thought this may be an intriguing method to create abstract art: attempting to depict these images as traditional paintings using engaging marks in a realistic manner. The final result is neither realistic nor abstract; it is only rational.
