Burberry
I crafted a narrative of luxury and tradition with a modern twist, using the Burberry Check pattern and painted abstracts of natural scenery.
Burberry
Burberry is a British luxury fashion house headquartered in London, England. It currently designs and distributes ready to wear including trench coats (for which it is most famous), leather goods, footwear, fashion accessories, eyewear, fragrances, and cosmetics.
Established in 1856 by Thomas Burberry, originally focusing on the development of outdoor attire, the house has moved into the high fashion market, developing gabardine, and products made exclusively for the brand.
Branding Elements
I chose the Burberry Check as one of the branding elements because it is a homage to both Burberry’s origin and later prominence. This design is synonymous with high-end international fashion. Burberry’s patented design was first only sewed into the company’s coats in the 1920s, but it wasn’t until the late 1960s that it became a scarf.
In order to not lose any of the prestege I isolated the Burberry logo in a chromatic field atop the design. This field consists of texture brushstrokes contrasted by raw canvas.
